Give your chopsticks a place to rest. Crafted by hand from red and white clay, these holders bring the same quiet elegance to your table as the rest of the Vaidava Ceramics products. Small in size, but considered in every detail.

The outside is left partially unglazed, revealing the natural texture and colour of the clay body, while the top is glazed in your choice of white, black, or transparent, so you can find the one that fits your favourite collection.

Designer spotlight

In 2015, VAIDAVA CERAMICS embarked on a new path - creating design-led tableware with a focus on minimalism and subtle elegance. The result was the Earth collection, offering a contemporary take on traditional pottery while honoring craftsmanship and raw materials. A defining feature of the collection is the exposed exterior of red clay - which brings a natural warmth and tactile authenticity. The inner glaze tones are inspired by nature’s color palette, creating a harmonious balance between surface and substance. In 2017, the Earth collection was recognized as a finalist in the Latvian Design Awards, marking its place in the modern design landscape.

Raw materials

One of the materials we work with is high quality red clay, recognised for its distinctive colour caused by iron oxide. Valued by potters for generations, this clay is known for its strength, durability, and resistance to heat. Often associated with folk art and traditional craftsmanship due to its long history and cultural significance, red clay continues to inspire us. By learning from the past and our craftmanship, we transform this material into elegant, thoughtfully designed pieces made for everyday life.
