Vaidava Ceramics participates in Global Money Week 2026

The headline for many may seem very surprising! This is not fake news but rather one of the ways Vaidava Ceramics looks to give something back to the community. Global Money Week (GMW) is an annual global awareness-raising campaign to improve financial literacy, particularly focussing on young people. In Latvia, various events took place during the week of 16-22 March.

One of these was an online event broadcast from the premises of Nasdaq Riga on 18 March. Together with the Latvian Financial Literacy Society (an NGO), it featured a panel-based discussion called “From small amounts to investments”. This assembled well-known Latvians with financial coaching skills as well as those active as private investors to share their thoughts and experiences on how to approach the practical side, when money is seemingly evaporating in everyday expenses, while investments are imagined as being something far away and unattainable.

They shared how it is often not just about the amount of income – it is important to understand how to organise one’s finances, how to set priorities and how to start taking practical action, even if one can initially set aside only a very small amount.

As a thank you for their investment into this event, each of the panelists received a set of Vaidava Ceramics’ Eclipse Gold collection espresso cups.

This particular product indirectly has several links to international financial markets. Firstly, coffee is a globally-traded commodity enjoyed inside our espresso cups, while spending time analysing investments frequently means drinking coffee. These Eclipse Gold products come in a set of two, providing good motivation to undertake analysis together with another person! At the same time gold, the precious metal widely-known as a safe-haven asset, is contained within the glaze around the rim of the cups.

Moreover, Vaidava Ceramics has a secondary connection to Nasdaq Riga as a senior management’s family also has origins from the lovely village of Vaidava – where our workshop and production has been historically based.
