A creative contest like no other in collaboration with Eversheds Sutherland Bitāns and Manilla and LAUX.
Following the positive experience in 2025, we invite everyone to once again reconnect with nature through the timeless and meditative art of Ikebana. In partnership with Eversheds Sutherland Bitāns – one of Latvia's leading law firms and part of a global top 10 law practice and LAUX, a creative agriculture farm and cultural organisation rooted in the Latvian countryside (Dikļi, Ozolmuiža) with a passion for connecting nature, art, and community, and Manilla – a Riga-based Latvian design and stationery company founded in 2013, known for its curated selection of paper goods, design products, gift items, and gift wrapping. An independent Latvian stationery and design retailer, Manilla works with international brands while also developing its own locally made products. We are thrilled to once again launch our very special Ikebana Composition Contest – and you are warmly welcome to join us in celebrating creativity, calm, and the beauty of the season.
Our Inspiration
VAIDAVA CERAMICS’ exposure at the 2025 Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show (MIFGS) – the Southern Hemisphere’s most prestigious horticultural event and one of the top three of its kind globally.
One must remember that Ikebana is not just about flowers – it’s about form, harmony, and honouring the space between objects. We have intentionally moved the competition to June so that residents in more northern latitudes can have access to a greater variety of flowers and general greenery, together with more daylight hours to find those perfect elements to include!

Why Ikebana?
Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging, is more than decoration. It’s a spiritual practice rooted in simplicity, asymmetry, and a deep respect for nature. Each composition is a quiet dialogue between the elements and their container – a reflection of the season, the moment, and the maker.
Spring is the perfect time to create something meaningful. Let your hands follow your intuition. Let nature guide your design.
We can’t wait to see your vision come to life.
Handcrafted tableware for celebrating YOUR life.
